Chomping at the Sloane Bit
It wasn’t exactly sweater weather recently, but there was with a bit of a dip in temperatures and humidity, so sweater weather enough. At least for one day. I was thrilled, to say the least, as sweater wearing is as close as I get to natural plumage.
I chose my lightest weight Geelong Fair Isle – a Made in Scotland Harley – and in a very summerlike hue, so as not to look, nor feel, too off. And I also selected one of my brightest Liberty cotton shirts. Cordings of Piccadilly always has a lovely new collection of Liberty shirts each season, and this one was from a few seasons ago.
I was also awfully pleased to slowly dip my toe back into my leather pocketbooks. I pulled out my 15 year-ish old bag in Navy (even though it looks Black here), reappreciating the virtues of impossibly high quality leather, forgoing my Beans canvas totes for the moment. There really is no replacement for high quality.
And the more I wear my handful of Sperry loafers, the more I like them. They are surprisingly comfortable, and they have some very good looking options, often on sale. This is a place where I can go back and forth wearing either the Men’s or the Women’s, and quite honestly, can easily forget which is which. (I bought these a couple of years ago at the Sperry store and never knew what they were called.)

And I am still wearing my J. Crew Factory chinos. They are on a wear, wash, repeat schedule.
