How to Dress Like a WASP: Tweed Shooting Coats

There are two basic components to having any garment last - one is quality/construction and one is taste. Good tweed shooting coats meet both categories.

Tweed shooting coats are classic country outerwear.

Also sometimes called field coats, they are designed for shooting, but also for long walks in the woods and fields.  They are also great for watching sporting events, for around town or the office, and doing chores outside.

I have said in jest that there is nothing more WASPy than the right tweed shooting coat, and there is nothing less WASPy than the wrong shooting coat.

This has become more salient as, perhaps because barn coats have become trendy of late, I have been seeing more cheap knock-off shooting coats flooding the market.

Here are five common mistakes to avoid when buying a tweed shooting coats, so that you can get one that you will want to put on for years to come.
